About Us

Founded in 1999 on the island of O‘ahu, Pipe Dreams Surf Co blends Japanese and Hawaiian culture into designs that reflect the local lifestyle and community we grew up around. We’re best known for our bold pop culture-inspired artwork mixed with island-style humor, along with our geisha and oni designs inspired by traditional irezumi tattoo art and our deep appreciation for Japanese culture and artistry.

Our founder has always had a passion for shopping and streetwear culture, but often experienced poor customer service and unwelcoming environments. That inspired the creation of Pipe Dreams Surf Co, a shop built not only on unique designs, but also on creating a welcoming atmosphere and genuine customer experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Pipe Dreams Surf Co first opened at Aloha Tower before expanding to locations in Ala Moana Center and Pearlridge Center. Over time, we chose to focus everything into our Pearlridge location, which proudly remains our humble home today.

We feel incredibly grateful for all of the loyal customers who have supported Pipe Dreams Surf Co throughout the years. As a small local business from Hawai‘i, none of this would be possible without the love and support of our community and everyone who continues to shop with us.
